王子今，1950年12月生于哈尔滨，西北大学考古专业、中国古代史专业毕业，历史学硕士，中国人民大学国学院、出土文献与中国古代文明研究协同创新中心教授，中国秦汉史研究会顾问。出版《秦汉交通史稿》《史记的文化发掘》《秦汉区域文化研究》《睡虎地秦简〈日书〉甲种疏证》《走向大一统的秦汉政治》《秦汉社会史论考》《秦汉时期生态环境研究》《秦汉史：帝国的成立》《秦汉边疆与民族问题》《秦汉社会意识研究》《秦汉闻人肖像》《秦汉文化风景》《秦汉称谓研究》《秦汉交通考古》《秦汉交通史新识》等秦汉史研究等专著40余种。

The author is a Professor at the School of Chinese Classics, Renmin University of China, and consultant of the China Qin and Han History Research Association, mainly engaged in the research of Qin and Han history. He has published more than 40 academic monographs, including Qin and Han Dynasty Traffic History, Cultural Excavation of Historical Records: Anthropological Exploration of Early Chinese History, and Research on Chinese Historical Documents in the 20th Century.
