本书以道统为主线,用中西比较的视野,对中国从古至今的学术思想进行梳理,发掘贯穿其中的思维方法、价值观和对理想社会的构想。解释人与自然、人与社会、人与人关系为主要内容的天道观,是中国学术思想的显著标志。西周时期,就形成了“神灵之天”“道德之天”“自然之天”的天道观,连同民本思想等作为古代思想遗产,为孔、墨、老三哲所继承。不同天道观相互渗透、互相影响,产生更加精彩纷呈的思想成果。
