This book reviews the basic path of the reform of China's foreign trade and economic system in the past 40 years, and it analyzes the Chinese experience and Chinese path towards the liberalization of trade and investment. It summarizes the basic practice and experience of moving towards a big trading and investment country, puts forward the developing thoughts about foreign capital and the Chinese mode of utilizing that capital, explores the theory of Chinese enterprises' foreign investment and its significance to China's overseas investment as the "Belt and Road" construction. The book also analyses the historical trend of China's participation in different stages of economic globalization. In addition, it studies, interprets and summarizes the theory of the open economy with Chinese characteristics founded by the Communist Party of China, and demonstrates that Xi Jinping's thought of opening-up in the new era is the latest theoretical understanding of an open economy.
