This book is the second personal work of Xue Li on the Belt and Road Initiative, which is an integration of relevant results published between May 2016 and December 2017. In this book, he analyzes the following three aspects: the significance of the Belt and Road Initiative for China, global and regional governance, bilateral relations and nationality studies. He has put forward some new ideas in these studies such as the idea that the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative means that China has entered a new stage of reform and opening-up. Its main feature is that China has changed from “opening-up itself” to “opening-up itself and others”; the surrounding areas have become the priority in China's foreign relations. Thus, it is necessary to formulate strategies for different sub-regions around the world. These insights have enriched readers' understanding on the Belt and Road Initiative.
