以戴望舒、卞之琳、何其芳等人为代表的中国“现代派”是白话诗史上一个重要的诗歌流派，随着国内外交流的日益增加，海外学者关于中国“现代派”诗人的研究也不断深入，成果日益丰硕。为了借鉴国外对中国“现代派”诗人的研究成果，促进国内外学术界的相互交流，对中国“现代派”诗人在国外的接受进行总结就显得更为迫切。本书的目的即是站在跨越异质文明的角度，对英语世界关于中国“现代派”诗人的研究成果进行梳理总结，希望能够促进中外学界的交流与对话。
